Overview

Peace of Mind for Your School-Age Children.

Our Kid Stop offers care for school-age children (kindergarten through age 12) for before- and after- school and full-time on school vacation days, including summer. The program provides an interesting, challenging and safe environment for school-age children.

Our quality faith-based care focuses on the whole child and their age-appropriate learning and development needs. Programs are available in Bedford, Claysburg, Everett, and Johnstown.

Staff team members have education, ongoing professional development, experience with children and are certified in pediatric first aid and have state-mandated clearances.

 

School-age care at a Kid Stop includes:

  • Fun learning activities such as creative arts, cooking projects, board games and science projects
  • Nutritious snacks are provided, along with breakfast on full days of care
  • Time to complete homework with assistance from a Kid Stop team member
  • Local field trips, as well as recreational and social opportunities, help encourage fun and interaction
  • Diverse activities are offered to help meet the educational needs of the school-age child such as creative arts, cooking, and science projects
  • Special enrichment days allow the children to learn more about themselves and their community through visits and activities
  • Financial assistance is available to those who meet income guidelines through Child Care Information Services offices and United Way scholarships (Bedford County only)
All of our Kid Stop locations are certified by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning, a division of the Department of Human Services.
All of our sites have at least a STAR 3 (out of 4) rating through the PA Keystone STARS, a voluntary statewide quality initiative program.
